The default image is from Gravatar (Mystery Man), which comes in square size only. We wanted to make the plugin compatible with all themes, which means that while the gallery can always use square images, the featured image will be different for each theme. So we think the best solution is to not apply a featured image to the single player page unless one has been selected ??

I think I have to disagree. If I may. Maybe it shouldn’t be Mystery man showing his “face” as default image on player profiles, although it could be… An “Image coming soon-image”, instead maybe.
What I am trying to say is, I think, that even if it is just an “image coming soon-image”, it gives a nicer touch to the page if there is something. Otherwise it would just be text…

I definitely understand. A couple things to consider, though:

While an “Image coming soon” image have more meaning, we’d need to create a separate graphic for each language. This is why we think using the Mystery Man is more universal.

Also, if we were to add a placeholder image to player profile pages, this would mean that any teams that don’t wish to have player photos (youth teams, for example) would be forced to display “coming soon” images instead of a simple page. Depending on the theme, that simple page may already have images in the header, footer, background, etc that give it enough character.

    Hope this makes sense ??

    Hi there,

Thanks for your question. The profile photo will only be displayed if the theme supports featured images. You can also create your own template for displaying players by copying single.php from your theme folder into a subfolder called sportspress. The name of the template should be single-player.php

    Hope this helps!

thanks for your answer really is not my subject accepts Featured images are not shown because there is now a guide to show me how to create the template for the hits, here you can see as shown in the present
