Add Content to Blogs Page

To get around this, I would create a separate page with Gutenberg, insert whatever content you might want, then insert the [blocksy_posts] shortcode to make the posts appear.

This is the easiest method to achieve what you want.

I tried to do that, but the blocksy posts don’t appear, only the text “blocksy_posts”. It appears the shortcode isn’t evaluated, even though I have the Blocksy Companion 1.8.9.5 and I used the shortcode block in Gutenberg.
