Add Comments to Latest Post breaks page

Running 2.5.
An odd situation…
Blog is not live yet and I have three posts with a few categories, tags, etc., that I am using to test functionality, etc. before launch.

My theme layout is the type that uses header, right & left sidebars, with content in the middle, and a footer.

Each of the three blog posts were posted on different days. For the single page, showing post content, everything looks & works fine for the first two posts. However, for the most recent post, the footer pushes up to the bottom of the post content, such that the Add Comment section overlays it.

I deleted the most recent post and then looked at the second post (which is now the most recent because the other was deleted) and it now gets the same issue, whereas before when it was not the latest post, it worked fine.
