Add Categories on the Post Page

Possibly this has already been implemented, but I’ve failed to find it. I want to be able to add new categories on my Create Post page. It’s bothersome to have to switch between the Create Post and Create Category pages when I just want to add a couple new categories to use with a new entry.
Any suggestions short of hacking the post.php file?
