    Hi Nelly,

You can add a captcha field to the sign-up form using the various filters and hooks available from inside the plugin but right now there is no easy plug and play CAPTCHA field. This is something I am currently working on though.

This feature will be available in the next version of the plugin which I hope to release early next week.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,
I am already using a Captcha on my comment form and there seems to be some conflict when I added the email sign-up checkbox to the comment form.

The position of the captcha entry field seems to be moving in a way that it can’t be used when the checkbox for the sign-up is enabled. I am using the “BotDetect Captcha” plug-in: https://captcha.com/doc/php/wordpress-captcha.html?utm_source=plugin&utm_medium=wp&utm_campaign=3.0.Beta1.7

You can see a demonstration of the problem on my site here:

    Hi @pcrider,

It seems the conflict doesn’t have much to do with the captcha plugin but more with your theme styles. My guess is that loading the checkbox default CSS will fix the issue.

You can go to MailChimp for WP > Checkboxes to load the “checkbox reset” stylesheet.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply Danny,
I’m not finding any reset there. Do you mean this box:

Load some default CSS? Yes No Select “yes” if the checkbox appears in a weird place.

I tried this with Yes checked and with No checked – no difference.

Hi Danny – has the plug and play captch solution been added to the plugin yet? If so, is it available on the free version as well as the paid version?

    Hi there,

Yes, you can install the BWS Captcha plugin and then simply use the following code in your forms to render a captcha field.

    [captcha]

The Captcha feature is available in both the paid and the free version of MailChimp for WordPress.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi there,

Ive installed the above BWS Captcha plugin,
    Ive activated it.

Ive gone into wordpress to Mailchimp for WP > forms > form markup.
Ive added [captcha] as above, which didnt do anything and just came up as [captcha] on the screen.

Please let me know exactly, in steps, where and how to add captcha to the email subscribe signup box

    Hi Dee,

Can you please try and use the following.

    {captcha}

    Note the brackets. ??

    Does that work?

    HI Danny,

I’m picking up where this left off. BWS Captcha now says the code is:

    [bws_google_captcha]

But putting it in the form doesn’t work, with either type of brackets. As said previously, it just shows up as text.

Please tell us the exact steps to get this to work. Appreciate it.

    kareng,
I had lots problems in my site getting LOTS of fake subscriptions. Several days ago, Danny suggested to install GoodbyeCaptcha plugin which offer an integration with MailChimp for WordPress. This way you don’t even have to show a CAPTCHA in your sign-up form.
I don’t know why this plugin is not mentioned in FAQ page but really saved my life. Finally I had a week without any bots subscriptions.
    See Danny’s advice here

    Thanks Jurgen. I’ll try it.

it says for lite version – does it work with the full version as well?
