    Hi,

I’m having trouble finding the confirmation box that activates Captcha. I followed the instructions of the following link but, even if I have the latest version of the plugin, I don’t see the option anywhere.

    Thanks for your time

    Hi,

Would like to update you that in order to activate captcha you’ll need to have Email Subscribers pro as per the prerequisite mentioned on the link you mentioned. Please do have a look and let me know if I may help you further regarding the same.

It’s weird that we have to update to the pro/paid version. It became a disaster with these fake registrations. I had to deactivate your plugin, because of high spam activity and overload to my server.
Please add some security/spam check to the main plugin. We can’t use it in this state.

    Regards.

I second NewsArena’s’s comment. Without some type of validation, the subscribing feature is a nest for fake subscribtions.

    Hi,

A little help, if you want. As I see, Email Subscribers & Newsletters plugin combined with GDPR plugin with checkbox to confirm Privacy Policy don’t allow these fake registrations. Maybe it’s the right direction to manage the problem. Something like a bot trap technique.

    Best regards.

please help with captcha in free version. I am having the same issue with over 100 spammers each day for the last 5 days! Will have to abandon this plugin if nothing is done. Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks NewArena for your Tip and thanks Aditya Shah for your answer. I hope that the plugin has this functionality in its free version, because I consider it to be a basic function of operation.

    Thanks for your time.

I agree with SerGi. Keeping spam subscriptions out is a basic function of such a plugin. Thanks for offering the suggestion, NewsArena. But I don’t want to have to use a plugin to fix a plugin.

    Hello,

Yes, captcha is a part of a Email Subscribers PRO.

But, we have also fixed the Spam subscription issue on free version of Email Subscribers 3.5.16.

So, if you are on lower version, request all of you to upgrade your Email Subscriber plugin 3.5.16.

    Hi,

Certainly, the problem has ceased. I would have liked to have the ReCaptcha option in the free version but I respect your decision. It is still a great plugin, light and effective.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello,

Thanks for the confirmation and glad to hear that you found this plugin useful.

This problem is back, over 100 spammers from Russia just from yesterday.
    Will this we fixed?
I have a GDPR check box but it’s not helping.
Or do I have to change plugin?

    Hello,

same here. Many spam subscribers from russia. I am using this plugin on many pages and do not want to replace with any other just because captcha is just in pro version.

Do not think that just this function should be only in pro version. This can force many people from stopping to use this plugin.

    Installed version isVersion: 3.5.18.

Same problem here! There is a bot or script that is exploiting the subscriber functions and generating a constant stream of fake Russian email addresses, which in turn is causing bounce messages because of the double opt-in feature. I had to disable this plugin on two client sites and am now looking for an alternative plugin. So unless you fix this quickly, I will not be using or recommending this plugin again.
