    Hi, I installed NextGEN Gallery, but in AAM I do not see the option to control the access to NextGEN, I assume that it is because NextGEN Gallery has an internal option to manage roles, however this NextGEN option only works With the WordPress default roles and does not take those created with AAM.

    So, if NextGEN Gallery use defaults WordPress roles, is there any way I can add in AAM to the default “Editor” role the possibility to manage Widgets (in Backend Menu) because it is the only option that does not have that role, and the reason why I had to create a new one based on the Administrator role.

    Thank you.

    Hi @pediaf,

    Thank you for the message and questions. I’m not sure how NextGEN Gallery works but let me clarify here few things.

    1. All the roles that are created with AAM interface are following the WordPress core standards and are not any different then default WordPress roles like Editor, Author or Contributor. If NextGEN does not see any roles outside the few default, then this plugin hardcodes the list possible roles;

    2. If you do not see NextGEN Gallery on the Admin Menu tab, it means that this plugin injects capabilities dynamically and the only way to manage access to this plugin is on the user level. For more information please check https://aamplugin.com/help/how-to-manage-wordpress-backend-menu

    Do not hesitate to keep asking more questions.

    Thank you.
