• I have a logo in my media file. When you do a search of the site for the name of the company associated with the logo, you are returned the logo only with no corresponding information.

Are you able to add a link to this image stored in media? I can’t see anywhere that I can do that.

The image is being used as a portfolio item but the search also does not bring up that either.

I am new to WordPress and our site was created by an outside source that is no longer available.

    Thanks in advance for help.

  • Did you mean you want to make it such that when users clicked on the image which is inside the page, they are taken to a certain URL that you provided?

If yes, you can check the screenshot i provided here >> https://prnt.sc/suihqn

    1. Click the drop down and select Custom URL

    2. Insert the link you want people to be taken to when they clicked on the image

    Thank you for your reply.

Not quite. I have an image in the media file. If the name of the company associated with the image(logo) is searched for, the search returns the image with no other information. Presumably the search is just finding the image with the name in the media file so when it returns it, there is no other information.

I do not seem to be able to add a custom url to an image in the media folder.

I understand and am able to add a link to an image I place on a page but this image is not placed on a page other than being used as a portfolio item.

Because the search of the site does not return the portfolio page or item and is just pulling the image from the media folder, I would like to know if I can add a link and/or any other information.

    I hope I’ve clarified what I’m asking.

    Thank you!

Are you also unable to add link to the page from the portfolio page?

And i would also appreciate if you can send a screenshot of the portfolio page (where the image is) while on editing

So i can be able to advise what’s next

    Hello,

The portfolio page has a link to the site but the portfolio page does not come up when a search is made only the image.

Here is a screenshot of the portfolio page:https://www.farmmutualre.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/UG.png

This is a screenshot of what I get if I search for this company:

    Thanks.

    Oh now am getting it…

So the problem now is when a search is made for the portfolio, it shows only the image and no other information

May i ask if you use the default wordpress editor to create the page or a third party page builder?

    Right exactly!

We use the default WordPress editor. Hoenstly, I didn’t know there were other ways (lol).

From what you’re mentioning, i think the bug is not from WordPress but from the theme you are using.. Kindly contact the support of where you bought your theme
