Add an extra sidebar in Twenty Eleven

  • Dear gents and ladies,

    For my website, https://www.afwaardering.nl, I would like to create an extra sidebar on the left side. The Theme only comes with one sidebar (or none) per default, and I do like the fact that the sidebar is only visible at the homepage and when you navigate to pages. In short: when you click on a post, you won’t see the sidebar – perfect: this way, our readers can focus 100% on the article.

    So, in short: I would like to know IF and HOW it is possible to create an extra sidebar, on the left side.
    Google didn’t help me any further, and I’m not that great with programming, php and such.. ??
