Add a variation(buy a sample) option after configuration

    Hi Marc,

    Super nice work on the plugin ! … If i’m looking for the customer to first be able to configure the product, then be able to either add a sample of the custom product or buy the full product. The product sample and the full product would be two separate prices.

    hope that makes sense ? Is this something possible with the Variations add-on ?

    Hi Nathan,

    This isn’t currently possible out of the box with the plugin or the Variations add-on.

    At the moment, the configuration is only possible at the end of the process (after choosing variations), and adding to cart is done from the configurator’s popup.

    Something like select variations -> Configure -> add to cart.

    I might add other possibilities in the future.

    I think i understand. Sounds like it could work for me …

    Just to clarify. if i was to add on the variations plug in. It would allow the customer to first select a variation such as ‘order a sample’ or ‘full product’ after selecting a variation the customer would then be able to select Configure-> Add to Cart ?

    would it still be possible to have two separate prices for the variations like in a standard(non-configurable) products page ?

    That’s correct. Just like you can’t add to cart without selecting a variation, you can’t configure without selecting one either.

    Yes it uses the standard variation pricing.

    Note that at the moment, each variation choices has to be setup separately in the admin.
