Add a Note field to Wish List items?

I am interested in either some custom programming or a new feature that would allow the user to enter a note for each item they put on their wish list. In other words, a text input field.

I’ve been exploring the code and can probably do it myself (looks like I would need to insert/update an array in the user_meta field instead of the single value), but I can see that it would affect a lot of files and I’d rather not do that when other people might really like this feature as well. My client would consider paying for the development even if you are offering it to everyone.

This feature would also meet the needs of some who want to enter a quantity (as long as there is nothing to be done with it except display it). If the additional “field” could be labeled by the admin user, then it could used for “notes”, “quantity desired”, “color” or whatever they want. It would just need to have some sanitization of the input.
