add a “count bubble” in menu

    Hi Corsonr. We never managed to find a non-hacky way of doing it which is why reverted to the rather ugly way mentioned above. I wonder if one of the core devs could spread some light on the best method of going about adding this functionality to a plugin – especially with v3.0 right around the corner.
