Hi Robin, and thanks for this great plugin! ??

    The problem:

Since latests updates of browser extension Adblock Plus, social icons aren’t showed, the social block feature of the addon blocks them fully.

Is there any way to override the adblocking and show the plugin’s buttons in our sites?

Could be implemented some code changes to CSS classes, or anything, to prevent this undesired behaviour? I’ve seen some developers forum threads talking about this possibility in some cases.

I can disable Adblock Plus in my browser but not in my visitors browsers.

    This is a huge problem

    Thanks!

I did some looking on my own, and I don’t know that there is anything to be done from the plugin/website end–the Adblock rules can be targeting a mix of CSS classes/IDs (which include the social network names out of necessity) and/or the sharing URLs, which can’t be modified.

One of the answers I found was related to another plugin, but I felt like it was very helpful in clarifying the issue, and solution–that in the end, if a user has enabled the settings to block social buttons or is using a more aggressive filter with their browser extension, as developers, we have to respect that choice.

    Hi @littlerchicken

Thanks for the response and super quick support ??

I agree with you with the respect for the user decision. That’s the point! You’re right. I haven’t see this issue under that point of view and it’s ok ??

I only hope that the adblockers won’t deliver their apps with that check by default.

Thank you for the great plugin. I’m using it from some days ago and I’ve recommended it in my blog (it’s in Spanish).

I agree, I hadn’t really thought of it that way, either, but it makes sense. I know I feel frustrated when sites work their way around my ad blocker extension as well. Thank you for the kind review and for the translation work. I appreciate them both very much!
