    Hi joesegal,

    thanks for reaching out.

Advanced Ads comes with three different rotations.

The option to show a random ad on a position is included in the basic plugin. You can also use an ad slider or an automatically refreshing ad spot using some add-ons.

I list all the possibilities on this page.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Thank you Thomas. GREAT plugin!

There is one other thing. I created a group and made the placement after the first paragraph but no matter what option I chose the banner only shows up after all the content.

    Thanks again,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

    thanks for your feedback.

Advanced Ads tries to guess the paragraphs. It can be thrown off when parts of the content are wrapped in other elements. This is often only visible in the code.

Please try the “Disable level limitation” option in Advanced Ads > Settings > General > Content Injection. It would allow Advanced Ads to consider all paragraphs.

If that doesn’t help then please send me a link to that page so that I can check its code.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Thanks Thomas,
    That did not work.

Its not recognizing the paragraphs and always puts the banner group at the bottom.
It does show another banner I injected After content but the group I want in the content can’t be inserted.

    I’m using Divi builder.

Let me know if you need any type of site access. Thanks!

So I created a clone of the post for testing purposes.
I got rid of the divi builder stuff and reposted the content. There was no difference. The ad is not inserted in the content.
I even went into the text editor and inserted a paragraph tag. didn’t help.

    Thanks

    Hi joesegal,

thanks for testing this. Could I ask you to share the URL to the post without Divi builder here?

    Thanks,

    Hello Thomas,

Here’s the test post without the Divi builder.

    So another thing :/
I just had Divi builder freeze altogether and when I deactivated your plugin it started working again. Appears its not playing well with Divi.

    Thanks

    Hi joesegal,

thanks for the link. The post without Divi also looks like it is using it. There are nested containers each containing part of the whole post. Or did you revert it back to Divi?

About the builder freezing. I have seen this occasionally with other builders. Each time it was caused by either an ad blocker or an ad code. Especially codes with document.write in them.

Could I ask you to test it with Advanced Ads enabled, but the “Disable ads in the frontend” option disabled in Advanced Ads > Settings > General > Disable Ads? If Divi renders the preview like in the frontend then it should make sure that the ad is not delivered while the plugin is active. If it then still freezes then I will try to reproduce it.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for your help.
I’m not sure how the document.write thing can help me stop Divi from failing in this case as I don’t know what to do about it myself. But I’ll re enable your plugin and try to disable ads in the front end and see if that fixes the issue and report back to you.

Divi rendered the post and no ads showed after disabling ads in the front end.
I was able to create a new post with Divi without Divi freezing. Does that tell you anything?

Do you want access to my site? I really want to keep using this plugin.

Here’s another bit of info. When I went to the add plugins screen and clicked to preview a plugin the part that shows the plugin description and reviews etc is all blank for every plugin in the repository. The header image of each plugin is visible but the content tabs of details is not. Strange huh?

    Thanks!

    1. I ran a full deconfliction test that didn’t affect the failure to display the wordpress repository listed plugins details info.

    2. I inserted an Ad Group manually via the Advanced Ads button in the WP editor as a test and that worked. It’s just the auto insertion that’s still not working.

    Thanks again,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

    thanks for your feedback.

There is a reported bug for WordPress code about plugin details in the backend not working. I am very certain that it has nothing to do with your issue.

If the Divi editor works with ads disabled then it might be something in the ad codes. I would need to see them to make a more educated guess about which one it might be.

Once we see which ad is breaking the editor, we can report it to Divi or replace it and work on the ad injection.

Do you have too many ads to report here? You can also send the codes or screenshots through customer support.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Thanks for the update re the plugin details bug.

To be clear the thing we’re trying to resolve primarily is why the ads are not being auto inserted into the content paragraphs, not the divi editor breaking.

I’d be happy to share access to my site should it help.

    Thank you,
    Joe
