Ad Management Plugin

  • I am a newbie to the world of www.remarpro.com. I recently migrated over from wordpress.com and have virtually no experience in writing or understanding code. Therefore, I’d like to request that you all forgive me for my lack of experience and knowledge which leads me to my issue.

    I currently have WordPress 2.9.1 installed and am having issues with every block ad manager I install. Please see the particulars below:

    WordPress Version: 2.9.1

    Themes used: Desk Mess Mirrored 1.4.5 by Edward Caissie, Gradient Brown Beauty 3.0 by Hakan Kamci and Bold Life 1.1 by Jay Hafling

    Ad Management Plugin: wp125, UBD Block Ad MGR & Advertising Manager by Scott Switzer

    Goal #1: Place 2 – 8 125 x 125 ads (2 side by side up to 4 rows)

    Goal #2: Place 1 or 2 300 x 250 ads in right column as well

    Issues: Only places 1 ad per row for up to 8 rows aligned to the left. It appears that there are not a lot of Bloc Admanagement plugins that are compatible with WordPress 2.9.1.

  • I have run across issues with WP125 myself … and forwarded my work-around to the author. The other plugins I am not familiar with.

    I dropped this line of code in the wp125.php file after line 167:

    echo '<div style="clear: both;"></div>';

    Hope that helps with “Goal #1”

    As to “Goal #2” the Desk Mess Mirrored theme may not support any “Ad” wider than 255px; wider Ads could be used but would not “look” right.

    Perhaps the other theme authors would be able to suggest recommendations for their works.

    I was able to get wp125 working in a 2×4 configuration easily with just a few changes to the plugin css file. I was on wordpress 2.9.1 then updated to 2.9.2 with no problems. Send me a message if you still need some help!

    Thank you both for taking the time to respond. I upgraded to to 2.9.2 but, I’m still lost. My inexperience in this area has really placed me behind the 8 ball. I’m not sure what to do next.
