    Hi there,

Love the plugin, been using it for years!

We’re struggling with setting new adverts live as the dates keep defaulting to 1970 after publishing.

I’ve been looking through the support threads and I can’t see any option for the database to “finish updating” in the dashboard.

We’re running v5.8.24, with these readings:

    Database version Current: 68
    AdRotate version Current: 399

I’ve run the manual updater in ‘Maintenance’ but that hasn’t worked.

    Any pointers?

    Thanks

    Hmm ??

Please check your servers error_log file for errors.?
The error_log file can usually be found in your hosting dashboard.?
    Anything mentioning AdRotate is interesting.

    Hi @adegans,

Thanks for the message, unfortunately no reference to AdRotate in the error logs.

Would you like me to check anything else, or would you like access to the site?

    Thanks,

    Josh

As far as I can tell the scheduling of adverts works fine.
Usually if it doesn’t there is a database issue which will be logged in the error_log file.

If no errors show up in there you can try to do maintenance from Settings > Maintenance. For example the cleanup routine.
This’ll delete incomplete and broken data – For example a stray/stuck schedule that shouldn’t exist.

After that, creating or editing adverts should work better.

    Hi Arnan,

I’ve just tried the ‘Basic database maintenance’ clean up but no luck with that on a fix. Shall I try with the other maintenance options?

What is strange, our staging site (https://staging.basingstokeobserver.co.uk/), which AdRotate was last updated around March 2022, works fine.

I know it’s not generally considered good practice, but is it worth downgrading temporally?

    Thanks

What version do both sites have?

    Also from the maintenance page:
    – AdRotate version Current: 399
    – Database version Current: 68

    Staging: 5.8.20
    Also from the maintenance page:
    – AdRotate version Current: 399
    – Database version Current: 66

    Hello,
To my knowledge nothing has changed in how schedules are saved between those versions. My current test site works fine, too.
So I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ll look into it though.

    Hi Josh,
No that’s fine. Thanks though ??

I’ll do some testing on my end to compare the versions and hopefully figure out whats wrong – It’s just kinda busy at the moment.
