We have tried to block ads using the ‘Lists’ option in ad code blocks 1,2,3,4,5,6 and so on. Blocking has been instructed under “No ads” tags on the posts and pages, however, ads are not getting blocked for the amp version of the posts.

It is still blocking ads for desktop visitors, but not for AMP, which you can see below –

Original URL (Adsense ads are blocked successfully): See here

AMP Url (Adsense ads are not getting blocked): See here

Please provide a solution so that we can control ads as per our own requirements.

Ad blocking is a software or plugin of a browser that blocks displaying ads.

You very likely mean not inserting ad codes (blocks) for specific conditions – blacklisting blocks.

I could not reproduce any issue, this is the insertion log on the AMP page:

    INSERTION SUMMARY

I want to block Adsense ads for the pages that have ‘No ads’ tags because we use affiliate codes instead of AdSense on these pages.

Could you please give a solution in simple terms?

    Plugin Author Spacetime

    (@spacetime)

Simply blacklist that tag for all the AdSense blocks.

    Thread Starter singhvirat

    (@singhvirat)

Already blacklisted but it is not working for AMP pages.

When i am blocking, it is working fine for the Desktop. However, it lefts no effects on the AMP pages.

View the same URL in the different modes –

    Desktop: Click here

    AMP: Click here

You will see no ads on the Desktop but it is showing on mobile devices.

I see all Ad Inserter blocks inserted (or blocked) according to the settings.
You can check the insertion log for AMP page posted above or use debugging functions to label inserted blocks and generate processing log:
    https://adinserter.pro/documentation/debugging

The blocks that are inserted (e.g. 14, 17) are not blacklisted for that tag.

And you also have many AdSense ads that are not inserted by Ad Inserter (I see 8 such ads on that page).
It looks like the ad codes are inserted by AdSense Auto ads code:
    https://adinserter.pro/documentation/adsense-ads#auto-ads

You need to remove AdSense Auto ads code to prevent having AdSense ads on the page.

I think you are not getting my points

I understood that you believe that blacklisting doesn’t work on AMP pages.
I checked all the inserted blocks and plugin settings and found no issue.
With debugging functions you can check it yourself.
All the blocks are inserted according to the settings.

It seems you don’t understand the explanation.
Please check again the answers above.

I have carefully examined your replies. You mentioned “The blocks that are inserted (e.g. 14, 17) are not blacklisted for that tag”

I am fully aware of the fact that 2 ad slots are not given the instructions to block the ads, however, the rest of all ads are blocked but they are still running on AMP pages.

Auto ads are disabled for ‘in-page ads’ hence auto ads are not the problem in my case.

I again request you to please visit this page on your computer.

You should also visit this AMP page on your mobile device.

Now, what are the differences you identified?

You must have seen, some additional ad units on mobile devices which are still not available on desktop.

Please provide the solution. If such units are successfully blocked, then where are they coming from on mobile view?

As already explained, those AdSense ads you see on the AMP page are not inserted by Ad Inserter.

I don’t see any code for Auto ads on the normal page.
However, there is still code for Auto ads on the AMP page.
I see at least 3 instances for Auto ads code:

    <script src="https://cdn.ampproject.org/v0/amp-auto-ads-0.1.mjs" async="" custom-element="amp-auto-ads" type="module" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>

    <script async nomodule src="https://cdn.ampproject.org/v0/amp-auto-ads-0.1.js" crossorigin="anonymous" custom-element="amp-auto-ads"></script>

    <amp-auto-ads type="adsense" data-ad-client="ca-pub-3292254548342962" class="i-amphtml-layout-container" i-amphtml-layout="container"></amp-auto-ads>

And the header code is still configured to insert script for Auto Ads on AMP pages:

    [ADINSERTER AMP]

    <script async custom-element="amp-auto-ads"
            src="https://cdn.ampproject.org/v0/amp-auto-ads-0.1.js">
    </script>

If you still believe some Ad Inserter block is not properly inserted then please visit this link which will label all Ad Inserter blocks and post a screenshot here so we can identify that block:

    Thread Starter singhvirat

    (@singhvirat)

Whatsoever you think about 2-3 ad units but they are exempted from blocking.

There are more than 12 ads running on amp pages. You must target blocking them instead of focusing on 2-3 ad units.

Finally, please tell me what is the solution to this problem?

Please provide the solution on how to block ads on AMP pages for a specific tag.

    Thread Starter singhvirat

    (@singhvirat)

Now I have marked all blocks with “no-ads” tags to prevent ads from showing.

I have also turned off the auto ads on AdSense, but still, some ads are showing. Please check the issue

Of course, remote debugging needs to be enabled.
