We’ve been using this plugin for awhile on multiple sites. However, recently we’ve had a slew of users at our client’s company get locked out of their own site. We have also gotten locked out after one attempted login. Just looking for some insight as to why this might be happening. Thanks.

Hi, I am curious to know if you have whitelisted the IP address?

Hey @mbrsolution we’ve whitelisted a range of the IP addresses used within their offices. However we realize that’s only so effective as they do not have a static IP address. We run into this problem ourselves after one login attempt and have to disable the plugin manually to get back in. We have the setting enabled to immediately lock out anyone attempting to login with a user name that doesn’t exist in the system, and that has been the only recent change we’ve made to any of the settings.

I don’t know that the two are related, because most of the attempts by unauthorized users are trying to access with “admin:” or “login” as the username.

Any insight as to why our actual users get locked out almost immediately would be great.

    Thanks

    Hi,

If they don’t have a static IP address then this feature is not going to work for them. If you are in an intranet environment and one gets locked out they might all get locked out as well. In other words, you need to disable whitelisting in the office. Let me know if this helps you.

    Thank you

Since many user seem to have this problem it might be time for a more in-depth investigation? I’m not sure what causes the plugin to block all logins … even though all related setting within the firewall seem to be deactivated … but unless there is a solution for this problem I’ll not be able to use the plugin any further …
