Greetings. We have BuddyPress Docs installed on a Buddyboss site and we like it very much, thank you. One question: every time someone edits a doc it registers as an activity feed update. Is there any way to disable this, so that the activity feed is not flooded with all these edit updates?

Activity items for edited Docs should be throttled, so that a given user+doc combination should not create more than one activity item per hour. Of course, on a busy site, this can still result in a flood of updates.

There’s not a straightforward way to do this at the moment. I’ve just added a filter that will make it easier. See https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs/issues/737. Once version 2.2.1 of buddypress-docs is released, you’ll be able to use the code snippet in my comment to disable these activity items. (In the meantime, you can patch your installation with https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs/issues/737 to use it right away.)

Thank you very much for this, helpful indeed! When will 2.2.1 likely be released? Glad to wait until then.

Probably in the first week of January or thereabouts. Thank you!

Greetings! Great to see that 2.2.1 has been released and you’ve added the functionality to disable activity updates for doc edits. Is the code snippet the best way to make use of this? Should it be added as custom code? We are running a BuddyBoss site where BuddyPress Docs is incorporated. Thank you!
