First, after installing your free plugin I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality, great documentation and the fact that, like you, it can be used as an index or table of content for documentation. Great job!

Active style for top-level and sub-menu: I don’t see this in the free version (only General and Font in customizer), but the documentation doesn’t seem to call out that you need Pro. Do I have a problem or do you, in fact, need Pro?

Padding: What CSS do I need to align the top with the top of the page being displayed? I use Page Builder where the menu goes on the left and the page on the right, but they are not perfectly top aligned. Do I need Pro for this as well or is it just simple CSS?

Search: I see you have implemented a custom Google search for your documentation. This has a clunky feel. Why not create a custom post type for documentation so that you can use a native WP search?

I would love to talk with you more offline as there is a seed here for creating something currently not available in WP.

Thanks, Rob! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the plugin, and apologies for the late reply!

Active/Current styles – each included skin in the free version has these styles by default, but to be able to customize those styles via the Customizer, that requires the Pro version (see note in the doc).

This would be site/theme-specific, so I can’t tell without seeing your site. But it sounds like you’d just want to add some padding to Bellows. The selector for Bellows is .bellows , and you can also use the classes provided to target specific configurations.

The search in the KB is not actually part of the menu. (Note that Google recently changed their search form CSS without warning, so the search on our KB looked a bit distorted for a while as we did not notice it immediately – that has been resolved now). We do use a custom post type for our Knowledgebase, though that would be outside the scope of a menu plugin of course. You could certainly set up the native search instead. In my opinion, WordPress’s native search is not very good, and Google’s provides a far better experience, which is why we chose to implement it that way. But that’s a personal decision that Bellows is not opinionated about (or even really related to), so you could make whatever decision you like there.

I’m guessing this is probably moot at this point since unfortunately I missed your message and am just seeing it now, but if you have further questions, please submit them here: https://sevenspark.com/pre-purchase and we’ll be happy to discuss further – we check tickets multiple times daily, but only check these forums periodically.

    Thanks! ??
