Glad you fixed the other activation issue, but looks like you introduced anther. Now when the plugin is activated I get this error:

Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://aaaaaaaaa/wp-admin/admin.php?page=happyforms-welcome”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

  • Hey there!

That’s quite weird, sorry for that! Would you help us investigate by sharing some details?

    1. Is it the first time you try to install and activate HappyForms? Or you’ve already used it before, and you’ve recently disabled it before trying to enable it again?
    2. If you already tried to activate it before, did you encounter any issues?
    3. Do you have access to your database? That would definitely help rule out some possible culprits.

    Let us know your discoveries!

    Thanks for your reply.

I have installed it successfully before on several sites. This is a new activation on a new site. It won’t activate. Gives me the redirect error and no access to the backend. The only way around getting the backend accessible is to delete the plugin.

I do have access to the database. Anything specific I should be looking for?

    You’re welcome!

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience, and redirects just make investigating this even harder. To be honest, nothing changed regarding activation logic (even though previous bug reports were related this context), so this is a bit of a mystery.

Let’s look into your database: would you look for a happyforms-tracking entry in your wp_options table? If you see that, could you copy and paste the option value here?

    Happyforms tracking: a:2:{s:6:”status”;i:2;s:5:”ema …
    Widget_happyforms_widget: a:1:{s:12:”_multiwidget”;i:1;}

    Thank you for sharing this!

Looking at your database values, we noticed a small difference in how the data is serialized. For the record, we can’t replicate your issue even replacing our database values with the ones you shared – I suspect HappyForms is having issues with something in your server setup. Sorry if I reply with more questions:

    1. What’s your server software? (Apache, Nginx, …)
    2. What’s your version of PHP?
    3. Are you running other plugins? If so, which ones?

It would be great to check what happens if you deactivate, then reactivate HappyForms on one of your previous sites.

Thank you for your help troubleshooting this. Let’s hope we can figure this out quickly!
