• Hi,

I tried to activate the plugin, but I receive this error message, however, the time zones are the same:
The code provided does not match the expected value. Please verify that the time on your authenticator device is correct and that this server’s time is correct.

Please be so kind and help to fix the issue.

    Thank you.

    Hello, @webreneszansz

    Thanks for your patience.

Can you confirm you’re receiving that error while activating the plugin, or after scanning the QR code and entering the 6-digit code?

If it is the latter, please try the following:

    • First, install any pending phone or tablet operating system updates.
    • Make sure the authentication application is using the latest version.
    • Confirm you’re using the code that mentions “Wordfence – yoursiteurl.com”
    • If 2FA is still not working, remove any new entry for Wordfence for the site you’re trying to add 2FA for in the authentication application. Keep in mind, if you have 2FA set up for Wordfence on other sites, like our site or your other sites, leave those active if Wordfence is working there.
    • Try turning your phone or tablet fully off and on again.
    • Reload the Login Security > Two-Factor Authentication page again to create a new QR code and try to set it up again at this point.
    • Last, try using a separate 2FA authenticator application to see if 2FA will set up correctly.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Scott

I had the same issue today – the only cure was to use Authy instead of my preferred Ente Auth app.

    Any plans to support Ente??
