    Hi Venutius,

As soon as I activated this plugin… I could not access the administrator panel of the website.

As soon as I click to go to the dashboard… It takes me to the front page of the website

I had to disable the plugin to be able to see my admin panel again

    Kind Regards

PS: I am using a multisite wordpress site. The plugin was activated on a secondary site

Ah that’s a new feature I introduced yesterday – hide admin from users, clearly there’s an issue in two ways:

    1. It seems to be assuming it’s set to on, even though the default is off.
    2. It’s not recognising you are site admin.

I’ve disabled the feature for now to let you test. I have to admit I don’t have a multi-site test bed so I think you are going to find issues I’d not thought of.

    Hi Venutius,

Unfortunately… I am going to be away again from my computer for a number of days as I have just had a bereavement in the family.

I will make contact as soon as possible

    Kind Regards

Sorry to hear that, I’ve spotted a number of errors on activation so it’s not worth testing right now. I’ll update once I’ve fixed them.

    Hi Venutius,

I am partially back to work now. Thanks for the updates. I can confirm that the plugin works fine now

    Just a couple of questions

    1) Can this plugin be used with custom post types?

    2) Will it be too bulky or confusing to enable the group post to be restricted to work with specific categories for each group (similar to “Blog Categories for Groups plugin”?

    Kind Regards

    Hi there, welcome back.

    1. Yes CPT’s are supported. However supporting CPT’s with custom fields would mean you’d need to overload the template files in order to display those fields. I’ve built in a simple mechanism for this so it’s not a biggie.

That would add quite a bit of complexity. With BCfG all categories are displayed and the choice of category determines the group. However with Post Status you select the group in the status and if you’d want the categories to be restricted I’d have to republish the category list every time the group selection changes. Could I ask why you want this? What issue are you trying to resolve?

    Hi Venutius,

I think your solution is best with regards to my 2nd question. I currently have a site where each group uses specific categories; I just wanted to see if I could get rid of the “Blog Categories for Groups plugin” and use yours instead but as I can see now… each plugin addresses different needs.

Well done for all the effort you have put in… its really a great plugin

    Kind Regards
