Activating PolyLang when WPML is active leads to fatal error (WSOD)

The author is aware of the issue – both plugins are not compatible, usually the error goes like this:

Still, if a carried away person activates Polylang when planning to do a migration to it, they’ll be forced to edit plugin’s directory name or do something else in order to restore their site from WSOD.
If you have PolyLang activated and then activate WPML, you will get a nice Error notification at the top of plugins page. This is the way PolyLang should behave.
