Activating NextGen affects WP Dashboard

I had update NextGen to 2.0.7 and got a weird display when I logged into the dashboard so I reverted back to 2.0. I followed the step provided in support. As soon as I activated 2.0 the dashboard display changed again. I don’t know if it is a 3.6 WP issue or NextGen.
I also have lost the lightbox display that I have always had even though it is selected in the options section.
