Internet Explorer adds unwanted spaces when I add html table

I’m setting up some affiliate sites using WP and I inserted an html table in some of the subpages to display images and product descriptions (this is not a shopping cart).

The code works fine in FireFox, but Explorer adds a big space between the text and the table.

I’ve been searching for a solution with no success. I’m thinking it must be a simple fix, but regretably I’m still a newbie to the world of WP so any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
