Activated excerpts and now can't get to wp-admin

    Just turned on excerpts and my admin began acting up.

    After edit of my post the page wouldn’t refresh properly when saving. It just went blank. If I used the browser back button I could get back to my page –so I then tried a browser reboot and now the blank screen is coming up and I can’t get back in to the admin.

    I’m building my own template on this site, and if I view the site front-end it works fine.

    I need help on this…

    Is there a way to turn-off the excerpts from the control panel?

    Got back in to the back end after refining my searches to find this help:

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    This got me back to the admin and now i’ll try to fix or tweak the template.

    Is there a way to turn-off the excerpts from the control panel?

    Not from any admin panel, but you can remove it via code snippets or just simply make it not visible by using the “screen options” tab.

    However, I do not think that excerpts would create a problem of this nature. I suspect something else went wrong in your files somewhere.
