Selecting the “Activate Block Editor for Events” option in the settings breaks all event functionalities on site with WP 5.8 installed. Symptoms:

    – Add new event loads a blank page
    – Edit and event have these errors:
    – Your site doesn’t include support for the “tribe/event-datetime” block
    – Your site doesn’t include support for the “tribe/featured-image” block
    – we are missing The Events Calendar sections with information like Location, Organizers, Event Cost etc.
Existing event seem to be showing properly
Tried to disabled all plugins, did not help.
Unselecting the Activate Block Editor, results in the classic editor to load properly both in edit and new mode.
Specifically installing the Gutenberg plugin does not help.

    Hi @fcaporal

Thanks for reaching out, I’ll be happy to help!

I’ve tried to replicate this issue, however, I wasn’t able to see the same outcome as you mentioned. I tested on 5.8 and 5.8.1. Would you be able to create a screen recording for me displaying the issue that you see, please?

Also, can you try once more using WP 5.8.1 and see if the issue still persists, pleae?

    Hi @fcaporal,

One of me colleagues, made me aware of a bug that is being worked on at the moment and may be related to this.

Would you happen to have the “Allow users to switch editors” option checked?”, please? Does the issue appear after following the below steps?

    Block Editor plugin is installed

Allow users to switch editors setting is set to Yes

    New calendar designs are enabled

TEC is up to date and active

Activate Block Editor for Events is checked under Events > Settings > General

Thank you for your replies Chika.

The site is at 5.8.1 and it is not working.

I am not finding the “Allow users to switch editors” setting.

Also, how can I “post” a recording?

If you want we have a staging site to which I can give you access if you want to test for yourself.

Experiencing the exact same issue. In our case, we updated WP version and plugin version but the blocks appeared to be fine and working, however, we started experiencing an issue with the events saving properly, we were getting a JSON error. To troubleshoot this we installed the classic editor plugin and activated. The event pages were able to save in classic view, so we deactivated the classic editor plugin to look into the error further.

This is when we started getting an error message on events stating that the various tribe/event blocks were not registered. We tried deactivating and reactivating to no avail. We deleted and reinstalled each of the TEC plugins and are now getting the “Your site doesn’t include support for the various tribe/event blocks”.

I’ve attempted to follow your steps above, but we are still getting a blank white screen when attempting to add a new event with the block editor enabled. Additionally, the event pages seems to be saving fine now, but unfortunately we can’t view any of the blocks are currently exist since we see the error messages instead.

    Hi there,

    Apologies for the delayed response.

We’ve released a few updates since this was reported. Can you please try updating the plugins to see if you still encounter the issue.

If the problem still exists, then I’d recommend re-installing the plugins entirely, and then running through the steps in this conflict testing guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

Let me know what you find.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Marho
