Achievements based on comment rating

    Hi there,
    I’m using BadgeOs with the community addon plugin aswell.

    I want my users to be rewarded for activity that is rated by other users.

    For example I want my comments to be rate-able by hearts and for comments that have been given hearts to be awarded points/badges

    I also want posts that have been heart-ed say 3 times to receive points/badge

    Is this possible with BadgeOS, the BadgeOs community addon, plus bbpress and buddy press? I haven’t been able to find anything online about it.

    I’d wager it can be done, but we do not have anything set up for this type of activity, so it will have to be custom done. The trigger system that BadgeOS has is very hook-heavy with WordPress and various plugins. For instance, the login step triggers hook on to wp_login and do various checks at that point, same with something like the publish_post hook.

    If the rating stuff you’re using for your community fire hooks at the point of their execution, then someone could set up triggers that do their thing at that point and possibly award at that time.

    hmmm this is a shame – a bit over my head really – seems like such an obvious thing to want to include for enagagement/achievements.

    The type of engagement is, I won’t disagree, the issue is whose/which rating system plugin do we integrate with? There may be 50 different varieties, and it’s not always easy to determine which is best or may have the most benefit to integrate with. Not an easy decision. BadgeOS does extend and integrate with some other plugins, specifically ones like BuddyPress and LearnDash, but those are either very highly known/popular ones, or integrate for a specific type of site/content style. Most of the other available addons just extend functionality already provided by BadgeOS itself.

    Sounds like a rating system that you guys create would be the safest/best option ??
    or just an add on/option in achievements…
