ACF Post Oject

  • I have created basketball player profiles using ACF and on our site, we post articles about these players and I’m trying to find a way to display the related articles about the players on their profiles (built using elementor)

    I have a field group created for “Posts” (related_players) that is a post object field. So when I post an article about Player A I select Player A in that post.

    Where I am stuck is I can’t find a way to display those articles using Adv Post Queries.

  • I have a similar issue – in your example, I can use dynamic related posts to show all articles for a player but I can’t then reverse it to show all players for an article. I need to use the same relationship in both directions.

    Post is in Current Post Custom Field – works brilliantly and I use it on hundreds of sites.

    Its opposite, Post Custom Field contains Current Post ID – does not work and I end up having to set the related posts at both ends, which naturally leads to inconsistency.
    To make your scenario work you would have to have both related posts against basketball players AND related basketball players against posts.
