ACF Image field, fall-back if blank

I have a loop pulling in several ACF fields within Elementor Pro template, that work fine. However, I pull in an image field, and want to use a fall-back image if it is not present, but it doesn’t seem to work. I contacted Elementor support and they say it is a fault within Ele Custom Skin.
