• Hello!

We have a site built in polylang and flexible content from Advanced Custom Fields. We have all the pages made entirely in flexible content and translated in 5 different languages, all this was working correctly but recently it happens that if we update some of the translations on some pages the other translations break. For example, if I have a page in English and I update the Spanish one, the English one breaks and vice versa.

After multiple tests we found that this happens when the translations have a number of different flexible content blocks. For example if there are 12 blocks in all the translations and I make an edit to the French translation to add a new block in the middle making it have 13 blocks, this would break the other translations as if some index was lost and show the rest of the pages , both in front and back, with empty or wrong content in some of the blocks.

We tried all the possible configurations of the blocks as suggested in the following link but we only got it to break in different ways without any solution.

  • Hi, I had the same problem and was able to fix it by setting the Translations value to Ignore in all the flexible field items.

I looked at the Polylang changelog, and there has been a change in 3.2 that relates to this problem (I think):

Pro: Synchronize ACF layout fields if a child field is synchronized or translatable
