ACF file field

I created a file field in acf as shown here https://www.screencast.com/t/XnVErlv9D for (uploaded) pdf’s.

I want when the title is clicked that pdf’s either opens or downloads. How can this be done?

I used the following code which did not work.

[link field=pdf][field title][/link]
