We have some Advanced Custom Fields fields defined for our products.
These are set at the product level.
We have mapped these in field mappings for a Google Shopping Feed
For a “standard” product these appear in the feed
For any variations they do not appear at all.

It seems – for product variations – the feed plugin is not looking for ACF at the main product level but in the variation itself (where it will not find it).

ACF doesn’t (I don’t think) allow you to add fields to product variations.
It therefore appears to be impossible to use ACF in Product Feed PRO for variable products ??

Unless you can tell us how this can be done please ??

We’re using elite. I guess a workaround is to add the fields that we want to variations using Elite extra fields (brand and condition, which are the two fields we had defined at the product level for using ACF)
But that WILL mean entering a LOT of extra data because every variation will need this data setting, not just the main product.

    Hi websanity,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Unfortunately that is how AFC works and many other plugins (only adding the fields to the main parent/variable product) and that is exactly the reason why we added the extra fields feature to our plugin as Google and Facebook require the variations to be in the feed and not the variable parent products.

I am afraid there is no other solution than to, indeed, add the values to the variations itself.

    All the best,
    Eva
