I have installed Advanced Custom Fields and integrated it with UM as per the detailed instructions.

All is working well; fields on the user profile appear on my UM profile page. However, I can’t select any of these custom fields as meta data fields (and they’re not available in the user meta dialog when editing the form). For example, I want to display custom fields in profile cards for my member directory, but I don’t see any of my custom fields in the dropdown menu when selecting the option ‘show extra user information below tagline’ in Directory Settings.

The odd thing is that I have got this to work previously, but now I can’t. Any ideas?

  • Hi @eliotharper ,

I recreated the steps, and it is working on my end. The custom field shows and I can select the field I created in the dropdown menu when selecting the option ‘show extra user information below tagline’ in Directory Settings. Please note that the Field Name in the Advance Custom Field should match the meta key in UM Forms Field settings.

The Advanced Custom Field plugin has an update. May I know what version are you using now?

Hello, I have upgraded to the latest versions of ACF and UM but the issue is still persisting. The ACF field names and UM meta key form fields do match as per these screenshots. I would expect to see the ‘Street’ field available in the dropdown menu. Do you have any ideas why it might not be appearing? Is there a way to delete UM fields from the database and start over?

    Hi @eliotharper,

I haven’t encountered this issue yet, let’s see how others can help us.

To delete custom fields from the database, go to wp-admin> Ultimate Member> Forms> Edit Form> Edit the Field. Once the field manager appears, scroll down to Custom Fields, click the “x” to delete the field. Here’s a screenshot: https://snipboard.io/VR8BM3.jpg

    Hi @eliotharper,

Does it work when both UM fields and ACF meta keys are in lowercase?

Bingo! Thank you @gelieys, yet if I update the UM field and ACF Meta Key to lowercase then it works!

    Hi @eliotharper

You’re welcome! The meta key should be unique. It can only be written in lower case.
