• We have institutional members that we want to allow access for a certain number of seats for a given IP range. We’re open to other solutions, but the idea is that we can offer a physical location like a museum or university access to our site, and allow a certain number of seats. Ideally, if coming from a specific range of IPs, users would be automatically logged in to a specific account.

We’re willing to pay to have this feature developed fi necessary. We already paid a third-party developer to create this feature, but that add-on now seems broken, and we’d like something more official if possible, or at the very least written by someone more intimately knowledgable about s2member.

Any suggestions on how to implement this currently, or how to get this feature added, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • How about this?

That’s interesting, but it doesn’t really address our problem. For example, if we offer a subscription to a library, we want users in the library to be able to go to our web site and be automatically logged in to the library’s account. With the above solution they’d still need to know the username and password of the library account to access the site. I think the above solution is more for places where you want individuals to all be able to interact with the site with their own accounts (i.e. be able to post under their own names) but that’s not really a concern for us, as we just want to make our resources (digitized archival materials) available to users.

Well, then I suggest you contact the developer and see if he can create a customized version for you.
