    I installed the plugin and it stopped spam bots from making accounts, but it also removed the usernames from 100+ accounts, which now can’t be searched for even by email address. Seems to have wiped their records clean.

    Any ideas if/how this can be reverted?

    the plugin only prevents the registration and it does not work to delete the accounts, because it does not use any function that removes the users like wp_delete_user().
