I’m not having an issue as much as I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing, and whether I’m posting this anywhere slightly relevant I’m not sure …

The accounts that users can register to purchase items through the WooCommerce store, are they usable site-wide or just within WooCommerce?

What I’m looking to do in the future is add a forum or other content to the site that would require an account. If a user has already registered through the WooCommerce store, would they have to register for a second time to use the other features?

    Thanks for any info.

It depends on what plugin(s)/option(s) you use in the future for adding forums and other content to the site that require accounts. They most likely won’t need to register a second time, but would need to manually be added to the right role/group/membership, etc.

For example, our (WooCommerce.com/Automattic) Memberships plugin found here: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/ works to show or restrict content (pages/posts/products) based on a user’s membership, which can be tied to WooCommerce purchases or their user role. It also has an integration with the “bbPress” plugin for forum functionality: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-memberships-bbpress-integration/

    I hope this helps!
