• I have been working on a site for some time with mainly the same plugins I always use, then today when I created an Administrator account for my customer they were presented with this message when they attempted to log into the /wp-admin area.

ACCOUNT PENDING: Your account is currently not active. An administrator needs to activate your account before you can login.

I’ve never seen this before and some testing off the same process on other sites I have created does not give me the same problem. Create the Admin account, test it and straight into the Dashboard. Any idea why it might not be working?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I thought that might be the only way to resolve it. I’m sure I’ve used each of the plugins before so I hope it’s not a combination of plugins issue.

    Many thanks,

    Keith.

All sorted it was the All in One WP Security & Firewall plug in. In the User Registration Settings I had ticked the option to automatically disable all newly registered accounts
