Account needed deslected but still required to sign in

    I don’t want the poster to be required to sign in.
    I have it unselected in the settings as well as user registration, but the link to sign in is still there.
    Can they just provide the basic email and contact name themselves?
    Why is this setting there, if they are required to do it anywayts
