Hello, i would use your checkout block, but i need to let the user create an account during checkout, choosing a password, like in normal woocommerce checkout. How can i do it? I’ve turned on the option in the block settings.

    Thank you

    Hi @deny21,

Great question. The option to allow users to create an account on the checkout block works with the overall Account & Privacy settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy).

Those will need to be set to allow customers to create an account at checkout. If the option to allow guest checkout is disabled, then there won’t be a checkout to create an account since that will happen automatically.

Also, there won’t be fields to let customers choose their username/password. Those will be generated for them automatically regardless of what is set in WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy.

Give that a try and let us know if you have any questions.

    Cheers

    Is already set!
I’m using normal woocommerce checkout, and i have password field in my checkout. But if i use blocks checkout it doesn’t show on.

    Hi @deny21

The account creation flow works differently for the checkout block than it does for the default shortcode based checkout flow. Currently there is no password field for shoppers to fill out. Instead a password is automatically created for them and they will receive an email for setting a new password after completing the order.

This implementation was put in place because research has shown that reducing friction by eliminating things like user account creation fields etc during the checkout flow contributes to higher conversion rates (see one example of the research here.

With that said, we do have on our roadmap to implement some additional functionality that allows for merchants to implement delayed account creation after the checkout submission. This would include the ability for shoppers to specifically designate the password they want to use for their accounts.
