    Hi,

    All of our other installed email notifications are working correctly except for the below email notification, which generates
    – less than 20% of the time to some email addresses, and
    – 0% of the time to other email addresss.

    We have run numerous tests that confirm this inconsistant outcome.

    Email notification
    *Account Approved – User (User Role Changed – For User)

    We would greatly appreciated any assistance or insights on this issue.

    A couple of questions to help with troubleshooting:
    How often do user’s roles change?
    How many users does your site have?
    Have often is your site visited, either on the back-end or front-end?

    We have just launched this website for a client.

    How often do user’s roles change?
    – Once or twice at the most (following signup/registration on the website)

    How many users does your site have?
    – The website has 90 registrations within the last couple of days. This will probably grow to thousands

    Have often is your site visited, either on the back-end or front-end?
    – Back-end: A web master could be visiting the backend 10 – 20 times per day
    – Front-end: Visitor or users could visit hundreds of times a day

    How are the user roles changed? Is this by an admin or via a plugin?
    Does the notification work if the admin changes the users role manually?
    Do you have an SMTP plugin, such as Post SMTP?

    – The user roles are changed within admin/dashboard/users.

    Does the notification work if the admin changes the users role manually?
    – No. When the user role is changed manually this function/process works correctly. But the generation of the associated email notification is irratic (generates occassionally, and only to random email addresses)

    Do you have an SMTP plugin, such as Post SMTP?Yes
    – No. We have not installed an SMTP plugin

    Hi @eagleview,
    Thanks for the extra info again.

    Can you try the Post SMTP plugin? It has an email log so it would be good to know if emails are being sent by the plugin correctly but not received.
