    Hi there-

I’m attempting to install a theme I purchased from Envato Themeforest.

My understanding is that to do this I need to install www.remarpro.com on my desktop.

To install www.remarpro.com, I need to “access my web server” as per the instructions here.

I was under the impression that 1and1 was my server/host, but I just got off the phone with 1and1 support, who told me that my website is “pointed at WordPress,” and that I would access my web server via WordPress.

Now I don’t know where to look! Any guidance? Is 1and1 maybe lying to me?

No you do not need to install anything on your computer. You need to have WP installed on your hosting. Once you do that, see:

    Hi WPyogi-

Thank you for the response. I just got off the phone with 1and1 again, who directed me to whatsmydns.com, which revealed that “ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com” are the hosts for every country listed.

So if WordPress is my “host web server,” how do I access it via FTP? I do have FileZilla, but the instructions you linked to don’t quite make that clear…

Would it be something like “https://NAMEOFMYSITE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php” ?

    Thanks for your help!

if your domain is *.wordpress.com then you can’t use FTP and it has nothing to do with 1&1. Unsure why you link it to 1&1 so if you can give some more information then that would be great.

wordpress.com is the paid ver of WP. you are right now on .org its a self hosted/free. Based on your NS your site is hosted with https://wordpress.com/ they have different support with them.

Just a bit more details: I am assuming you brought the domain from 1n1 and hosted the site with wordpress.com. so you should or need ftp log in detail from wordpress.com account.
