• I am new to this..and downloaded a theme. However, even though it downloaded fine..I am not able to convert my standard blog format to what I chose. I thought it would do it automatically..or as it stated would be available on my page of Themes to choose from. I’m really excited to get my blog up and running…but want it to look right from the start. Please help!?

  • Did you unpack the new theme and place its folder in wp-content/themes?

    How do you place the folder in wp-content/themes? I can’t find it.

    FTP into your site and navigate to the folder containing WordPress.

    I’m having the same problem. If you install WordPress with the second option of placing it in a sub-folder, there is no file called wp-content. The main blog file on my site is named pblog and I have tried putting themes in various folders (named content or themes) but to no avail. Does anyone know how to add themes when WordPress is in a subfolder?

    there is no file called wp-content

    It’s not a file. It is a directory. The procedure is the same. Themes must go in:

    //www.yourdomainname.com/sub_folder/wp-content/themes/

    The one constant, regardless of installing in root, or a sub-directory, is that themes are located at /wp-content/themes/
