    Hello Amit!

The latest update to this otherwise very useful plugin unfortunately comes as a mixed blessing.

Accessible Poetry just got a lot better overall in that its appearance and (no pun intended) accessibility has noticeably improved, both in the front-end and back-end.

At the same time it also stopped working for me and, although reluctantly, as it stands I will have to look for a replacement. (For now I am reverting to version 1.0.2.)

This is due to the fact that

    1. version 1.2.1 stopped supporting the use of shortcode for placing the font sizer individually,
    2. from within the Accessible Poetry toolbar font resizing no longer works (using CryoutCreation’s Nirvana theme)
    3. the user no longer is given a choice, whether or not to enable the Font Sizer and contrast options.

Since I wasn’t very happy with the toolbar’s looks in the previous version, the only function I used (via shortcode) was the Font Sizer – which was the only one that actually worked with my theme.

Now that the toolbar’s appearance is quite pleasing in the new version, I would even consider enabling it. — If font resizing actually worked, that is.

But I would still prefer being able to have a shortcode, so that the Font Sizer (which I feel is of most use to the largest number of visitors) is more readily accessible at all times, instead of being tugged away in the toolbar.

It would be great and much appreciated if you were to reconsider these changes and could address whatever stops Font Sizer from working as before in the latest version!

    Thanks and kind regards

  • Since installing version 1.2.1 I can’t find how to disable the toolbar.
With version 1.0.2 I just used the SkipLinks.
How can I disable the toolbar in this new version?
If not possible – how can I revert to the previous version?

    Thanks

    Hey there,
this morning I uploaded much stable version (1.2.3) for the plugin. you should try it!

the shortcodes for contrast & font-size is not part of the plugin anymore to avoid conflicts & because the toolbar is now much simple to use & it looks much better now (you should try it). I’m also updating the design of the new toolbar from time to time, very soon it will include icons for example.

maybe in the future I will consider to bring back the shortcodes but for now is far from here because i’m working on new things for this plugin which is more important (for example in a future version the plugin will include a platform to see which images don’t have ALT).

I also added a bunch of new options to make it easier for the user.

msimpsonfr, in the new versions there’s no way to disable the toolbar because it has a lot of important buttons for the user. I will consider to insert an option for that in the next update.
