I really like this plugin and would love to be able to use it however we are committed to keeping our site inline with WCAG accessibility guidelines and unfortunately there are various issues I’ve noticed for disabled users who may not be able to use a mouse (e.g. blind people).

I wanted to list a few of the issues for you to be aware of and hopefully you’ll consider making changes in future updates. These are what I’ve noticed but I have only tested with a keyboard not a screen reader so there may be more. I am happy to do further testing if you are interested.

    • It’s not possible to interact with the cookie bar with a keyboard – it should be the first thing that is focusable on page load
    • When editing consent settings and the Privacy Overview box pops up, the focus needs to shift into the popup
    • Also in the Privacy Overview box, you can’t expand the dropdown sections with the keyboard (also these will need the aria-expanded=”true/false” attribute)

    Many thanks

    Hi @kerrydesigner ,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

Thank you very much for your recommendation. We are constantly trying to improve the accessibility support for our plugin. We assume that you haven’t tried our revamped plugin. This new plugin has improved UI and code.

If you would like to test this, you can migrate from the legacy plugin to this version by following this documentation article.
