    Dear Support,

I already wrote in a different location in the forum. I am with 1und1 (German host) and I can’t seem to get access to the editor. Specifically: I am having a problem with a plugin, wrote the guys from the support but they need full access. I already switched to free mode so I should have access according to 1und1.

Anybody know a solution to that? I would appreciate quick help since I can’t continue to work on my page unless I get this thing fixed…

    THANKS!

  • Changes with plugin’s editor depends of the permissions of the folder. So you need to ask to your hosting provider write/read permission for that folder.

    Dear josearcos,

thanks for the reply! That’s actually what I tried to do, but the host says the problem lies with WordPress and I should contact them… Now I am moving in a circle ??
Does anyone have experience with 1and1 or specifically 1und1 in Germany?

Hi again, go to 1and1 panel, and you must have a webspace explorer. Then, browse to the plugins folder, and here, you can change the user right of this folder.

    Hope this help you.

    Hey,
This has nothing to do with permissions. I’m unsure how we could have said the issue is with WordPress. We disable the editor though wp-config.php for all our click & build customers. You can enable it by going to wp-config en remove the line “define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true);”.

    Best, Marko

    Hi everybody,

thanks for the help!! Actually Marko Heijnen is right. Even though I didn’t remove the line but rather put false instead of true, it works now.
But thanks to both of you for putting up with my problem! The best to both of you with your projects!
