Access different versions (sizes) of image

You can do that:

$img_url= get_wp_term_image($term_id); //It will give category/term image url
$attachment_id= fjarrett_get_attachment_id_by_url($img_url);
$img_data = wp_get_attachment_image_src($attachment_id, 'vignette-standard-carree');
?>
<img src="<?php echo $img_data[0]; ?>" width="<?php echo $img_data[1]; ?>" height="<?php echo $img_data[2]; ?>" />

Yep, you should be storing the attachment id and not the url. This way its much more flexible.
