I am using Download Monitor with the Email Before Download plugin but the link to the download files is not working anymore.
After submitting the EBD form, the link opens only the main page and it looks like [site]/?ebddl=3a5bd407e0.
I added the download link directly, which is [site]/download/121/?tmstv=1684162631 (#121 is the download id), however, it shows “Access denied for this file”.
Even when I try the direct link on the Edit page [site]/download/121/?tmstv=1684164783 (it is different from the link it is created on the page for some reason!) I have an Access denied error message.

  • Hello @etoth ,

Email Before Download is not one of our plugins, so if there are any problems regarding that functionality please address their support forum.

As for the Access Denied to file warning, could you please let me know what file type ( extension ) is the file and where is it located ( is it in the uploads directory, root or other directory )?

    Warmly,
    Razvan

Thank you for the quick response.
They are zip files and their location is in
    wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/

Thanks for the info. Could you please go to a Download and make a screenshot of the File URLs box?

    Warmly,
    Razvan

    This one

Thank you for the info, seems like the file is located somewhere else than the root installation.

Please go to dashboard > Downloads > Settings > Advanced > Miscellaneous and in the “Other downloads path” setting enter : /www-shared/www-writable/msksoftware.org.uk/wp-content/. Save and try the download again and please let me know if the problem still persists.

    Warmly,
    Razvan
