I just created a bucket and access key on Google Cloud as specified in the instructions (https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-offload-media/doc/google-cloud-storage-quick-start-guide/) however it seems that Google changed the interface and possibly requirements to create an access key with necessary permissions. I downloaded, uploaded the JSON file as instructed yet sill get the error message

“Access Denied to Bucket — Looks like we don’t have write access to this bucket. It’s likely that the user you’ve provided credentials for hasn’t been granted the correct permissions. Please see our Quick Start Guide for instructions on setting up permissions correctly. ”

My access key has the storage admin role, yet there is an additional optional step not mentioned in the instructions called “Grant users access to this service account” that has two text inputs. Unclear if something needs to be added there. Any suggestions why access is still denied to my bucket?

    Thanks
    Frank

Problem solved: When setting up a bucket on GCS there is an option to choose between uniform and fine-grained access. After switching to fine-grained access and adding additional permissions manually (e.g. Storage Object Admin and others shown in the offload instructions) everything works fine.

Thanks for mentioning the fix, I’ll see if we can improve the docs for GCS to clarify the requirements.
